On Thursday 13 November at the Italian Cultural Institute in London there will be the free screening of the documentary “Quando c’era Berlinguer” by Walter Veltroni.

Book online here.

The documentary is not a complete biography, as that is not the aim of the film. It is an account of how Berlinguer’s work was experienced by a boy of the time from a non Communist family who was nevertheless extremely interested and fascinated by Berlinguer’s courageous actions. The actions of a man who led the Communist Party towards unthinkable directions in terms of political and cultural innovation and popular support. It is the story of Berlinguer’s solitude and successes, told through a narrative approach that brings together the personal memories of the author and the memories of the protagonists of the time.

The evening will start at 6.30pm with the concert of the musician Danilo Rea who will talk about his soundtrack for the film. The writer and film director Walter Veltroni  will be present too.

The event is organized by The Italian Cultural Institute.
