It was a great pleasure hosting director Mimmo Verdesca for the UK Premiere of his documentary Alida Valli: In Her Own Words.
An incredibly well researched and warm documentary celebrating the great Italian actress not only as an artist, but as a strong, creative and loving woman drawing on unseen private archive material.
It was fantastic hearing from the director himself about the research process and about his involvement with Alida’s family, friends and colleagues - including Bernardo Bertolucci, Vanessa Redgrave and Roberto Benigni.
The night ended at The Garden Bar where the audience had the chance to chat to Mimmo, have some tasty arancini and sip on some fresh bubbles.
